Prompt: A storm destroys your uncle’s shed and kills his six-year-old son. Describe the colour of the sky right before the storm hit.
Before the storm arrived the sky was peaceful, one of those days where the whole sky is just a wash of blue, no clouds, no change, just blue as far as the eye could see.
The first hint of the storm appearing as the swirling greys that seemed to appear out of nowhere, angry and threatening. By the time the storm actually hit the sky was a kaleidoscope of colours. Blues ranging from an inky navy, so dark they were almost black, to pale almost grey colours.
Mixed in with the blues were different greys. And streaked through that were various shades of purples and pinks. It was a maelstrom of colours. It was beautifully.
